Preferred Name Change

Overview

This service enables Hamilton College employees to initiate a preferred name change request. By submitting this request, you consent to the necessary system updates by the Help Desk and Information Security teams. Once approved, the preferred name will be reflected across all Hamilton systems including but not limited to:

  • My Hamilton/Blackboard logins
  • Duo Mobile
  • Wi-Fi login

Additionally, your email address will be updated to align with your new username, while retaining the previous email address as an alias to ensure continuity in sending and receiving email messages.

Ticket Information

Who may request this service?

This service may be requested by Hamilton faculty and staff.

What information should be included in the ticket?

  • Current name and username: the full name and username that are currently tied to your accounts
  • Preferred name: the full new name you wish to have on your accounts
