Web Publishing Using Mac OSX

This article explains how to publish your work on the Hamilton web server using Mac OSX.

 Instructions

  1. Choose Go in the Finder menu.

  2. Choose Connect to Server...

  3.  To connect to:

    • Academics (academics.hamilton.edu), on the address line, type in smb://canopus-fs.hamilton.edu/Academics/{Your/Folder/Path} then click on Connect.

    • Students (students.hamilton.edu), on the address line, type in smb://canopus-fs.hamilton.edu/Students/{Your/Folder/Path} then click on Connect.

    • People (people.hamilton.edu), on the address line, type in smb://canopus-fs.hamilton.edu/People/{Your/Folder/Path} then click on Connect.

"{Your/Folder/Path}" refers to the folder path of the specific web space you're attempting to edit.

For example, if you wish to edit the https://academics.hamilton.edu/Biology site, you will navigate to: smb://canopus-fs.hamilton.edu/Academics/Biology

  1.  An Authentication window will appear, requiring you to provide your Hamilton account credentials.

    • Hamilton employees must preface their usernames with "hamilton-d\"

    • Hamilton students must preface their usernames with "hamilton-s\"

  2.  Click Connect to connect.
