Network Drive Requests

Overview

The Network Drive Requests services provide support for creating, managing, and expanding network shared storage used across Hamilton College. Network drives are used to store and share data securely across academic, administrative, and departmental environments, and are accessible from approved college systems and locations.

Three service offerings are available under this service:

  • New Network Drive Request – For requesting the creation of a new network shared drive on either the academic or ESS (Employee Storage Server) environment. This includes setting up a new storage location, defining its purpose, and configuring initial access permissions for individuals or groups.
  • Edit Permissions of Existing Network Drive – For requesting updates to an existing network shared drive, including adding, removing, or modifying user or group access permissions. Requests must include the full path of the affected drive and clear details on the required changes to ensure accurate updates.
  • Storage Increase Request – For requesting additional storage capacity on an existing network drive to support growing or evolving data needs. Requests should include the intended use of the additional storage and whether future growth or scalable capacity is anticipated over time.
