Connecting Phones and Tablets to the APS-Hamilton Wireless Network

This article walks through the steps of connecting to aps-hamilton on an iOS or Android device.

Body

To access the aps-hamilton network on a phone or tablet, you must be on campus. The following instructions should work for Android devices running version 10 or higher. The instructions for iOS should work for both iPhones and iPads.

 Android

  1. Tap Settings.

  2. Tap Wireless & network. 

  3. Tap on aps-hamilton in the list of available networks.

  4. EAP methodchoose 802.1x or PEAP

  5. Phase 2 authentication: choose MSCHAPV2

  6. CA Certificatechoose Use system certificate.

  7. Domain: type in hamilton.edu  (This step can be omitted if the choice isn't offered).

  8. Identityenter your Hamilton username (don’t include ‘@hamilton.edu’).

  9. If there is anything written in Anonymous Identity, erase it and ensure that it remains blank before you try to connect.

  10. Password: enter your Hamilton password.

  11. Tap Connect. You will know that you are connected to secure wireless once you see the wireless icon () in your device's status bar.  It will also show up on your listed networks as "aps-hamilton" and will state that it is connected.

 iOS

  1. Open the Settings app either from your home page or using the search function.

  2. Select the option for Wi-Fi.

  3. Choose aps-hamilton from the list of available networks.

  4. Enter your Hamilton Username and Password, and click Join.

  5. Tap Trust when  presented with the certificate for radius.hamilton.edu.

  6. You should now be connected to the ap-hamilton Wi-Fi network, and you can check in the Settings.
