When a student at Hamilton graduates, their account expires in 90 days. Prior to that time, they must transfer data elsewhere if they wish to keep it.
Prior to deletion, the account enters a deactivated state. Once the account is deactivated, it is as if it has been deleted: you can no longer access email, no new email is received, no email is forwarded, and no auto-reply messages are delivered. 30 days later, your account will be deleted and all data associated with it will be unrecoverable.
Instructions
Option 1 - Download all data via Google Takeout
Google Takeout will create an archive of your data and email you when it is ready to download:
Option 2 - Transfer Email and Drive data from one Gmail account to another
If you have a personal Gmail account, you can directly transfer your Hamilton Gmail account's emails and Google Drive files to it. The transfer process may take several days or even weeks, depending on the amount of content.
Google Transfer allows you to transfer only your email and Google Drive files. Any other data, such as your calendar and contacts, must be exported manually or archived separately via Google Takeout.
Be aware that personal email accounts have limited storage. To ensure a smooth transfer, we suggest removing any unnecessary emails from both accounts before you begin. Insufficient storage is a common reason for failed account transfers.
