Renewing a NY Times Academic Pass

Tags ny-times

 Issue

Access to the New York Times stops working or is lost.

 Cause(s)

New York Times provides Hamilton College access through an Academic Pass, which is valid for four years from the date of registration. Access is lost when the pass expires and has not been renewed.

 Resolution

Renew your Academic Pass at nytimes.com/pass:

  1. Go to nytimes.com/pass.
  2. If you are already logged in to the New York Times, log out first.
  3. Click Log in here — do not click "Create Account."
  4. Sign in with the same email and password you used when you originally registered. If you do not remember your NYT password, use the Forgot Password option.
  5. Select Faculty/Staff when prompted for your affiliation.
  6. Check your Hamilton email for a confirmation message from the New York Times and click the link inside it.
  7. Once confirmed, your pass is renewed for four years.

If you encounter an error or do not receive the confirmation email, contact the New York Times directly at edu@nytimes.com or 1-800-698-4637. Let them know you are renewing a Hamilton College Academic Pass.
