Remembering Duo Log-in on Safari

This article gives instructions on how to enable cookies to remember Duo log-in for 15 days on a Mac device using Safari.

Safari is a Browser on Apple devices that is notorious for not allowing Duo users to save their log-in credentials using the Remember me for 15 days checkbox. Users a met with an error message reading: “You need to enable cookies in order to remember this device.” This is how to save the authentication, so end-users do not have to send a push with every log-in on a trusted device.

 Instructions

1.    Open the Safari application. On the upper left-hand side of the screen, directly next to the Apple logo, click Safari then Settings…

Click Safari in the top left-hand corner and open Settings.

2.      Click on the Privacy tab, and uncheck the box directly next to Website tracking labelled Prevent cross-site tracking.

In the Privacy tab, uncheck Prevent cross-site tracking.

3.      Sign in again, and check the Remember me for 15 days box before completing the Duo push, and you should now be good to go.
